July Classes

Native Medicinal Plants of Southeastern Colorado – Harvesting and Making Medicine

July 9 (9:30-12:00) $15.00

The class will emphasize medicinal plants that are ethically available to wildcraft (harvest) locally in our region. The process of making tinctures, salves, poultices, capsules, etc., will be discussed. The student will come away with a working knowledge of how to prepare his or her own herbal remedies.

Domestic Animal Friend(s) Natural Wellness

July 23 (9:30-12:00) $15.00

Many of us love our animal companions more than we love ourselves (I know I do). This class offers information on nutrition, natural pesticide control and herbal remedies for our pets. We discuss the pros and cons of vaccination and other routinely offered medical treatments for dogs and cats and the alternative approaches to ensuring our loved ones live long, happy, healthy lives. Recipes for food and medicine will be offered and discussion of specific health issues encouraged.

All classes are taught by Melissa Salierno. Melissa is a Certified Family, Consulting and Master Herbalist has been studying natural healing for 18 years. She currently teaches Herbalism courses at Trinidad Jr. State College and is a private consultant for those seeking a safer, more natural approach to healing. Melissa owned a holistic pet supply store in Estes Park where she emphasized nutrition, herbs, flower essences and other natural approaches to animal health.
